End-of-Life (EOL) and Product Change Notification (PCN) Policy

Introduction

At Robustel, we are committed to responsible lifecycle management that aligns with global best practices and supports long-term customer success. Our Product Change Notification (PCN) and End-of-Life (EoL) policy ensures that all lifecycle transitions and product changes are handled transparently, consistently, and with sufficient notice.

Products reach their EoL stage only after careful consideration of multiple factors, including:

  • The availability of newer, more technologically advanced products
  • Shifts in market demand
  • Material availability
  • Design optimization that improve quality and performance

Robustel also recognizes that Product Change Notification (PCN) and End-of-Life (EoL) milestones often prompt organizations to assess the impact on their deployed Robustel products, services, or subscriptions. With that in mind, the following lifecycle milestones are defined to enable customers to plan migrations, manage inventory, and maintain operational continuity.

Product Change Notification (PCN) Milestones

A Product Change Notification (PCN) is issued when a hardware, firmware, or component change may affect product form, fit, function, or performance. Robustel is committed to ensuring full transparency and advance notice of such changes to minimize customer impact.

  • PCN Announcement Date: The date on which Robustel communicates a planned change to partners and customers.Notification will be provided at least six (6) months prior to the implementation of the change, except in cases of component end-of-supply or other uncontrollable factors.
  • Change Date: The date when the notified change becomes effective in manufacturing, logistics, or documentation. From this date forward, all affected new shipments will reflect the updated product version or configuration.
  • PCN Scope: A PCN may include updates related to components, mechanical design, firmware, or labeling. Any changes that do not affect form, fit, or function may be documented without prior notice, as part of continuous product improvement.

End-of-Life (EoL) Milestones

Robustel’s End-of-Life process follows a structured sequence aligned with international lifecycle management standards. Each EoL phase is clearly defined to provide predictability and support throughout the transition period.

  1. End-of-Life Effective Date: The date on which Robustel publicly announces the End-of-Sale, End-of-Services, and End-of-Software Support dates for a specific product or service.
  2. End-of-Sale Date: The final date to order or ship the product or service through official Robustel channels or authorised partners. This typically occurs six months after the End-of-Life Effective Date.
  3. End-of-Services Date: The last date for technical and software support. Software updates will continue for critical security patches for up to 24 months after the End-of-Sale Date. After this period, service and software updates will be discontinued.
  4. End-of-Software Support Date: The final milestone of the lifecycle. Beyond this date, no further software updates, patches, or support will be provided. Documentation and archived resources remain available for historical and reference purposes.

Customer Guidance & Transition Support

At Robustel, we understand that End-of-Life (EoL) announcements can have operational, logistical, and technical implications. To ensure a smooth transition, we provide comprehensive support resources and advance communication to help our customers and partners plan effectively.

  1. Transition Planning: Robustel provides early notice of EoL milestones, allowing customers to evaluate inventory, project timelines, and maintenance schedules. Recommended replacement products are communicated through official bulletins to ensure continuity of supply and compatibility.
  2. Technical Support and Documentation During the EoL period, all related technical documentation, firmware, and configuration guides remain accessible through our support portal. Customers can continue to access archived knowledge base articles, ensuring ongoing reference for legacy deployments.
  3. Product Migration Assistance Our regional sales and technical teams are available to assist with migration to newer product models. This includes guidance on equivalent or upgraded Robustel devices, as well as advice on software or configuration adjustments required for seamless integration.
  4. Warranty and Service Commitments Robustel honours all valid product warranties and post-sale support obligations through the defined EoL timeline. Customers are encouraged to verify warranty status and coordinate any required service actions prior to the End-of-Services Date.
  5. Ongoing Communication All EoL notices and Product Change Notifications (PCNs) are published on the Robustel Knowledge Base and distributed through authorised partners to ensure visibility and timely awareness. Customers can subscribe to updates or contact their local Robustel representative for personalised assistance.
