Industrial edge computing gateway with Dual-SIM 4G LTE Cat-1, Serial and a Debian-based OS
The Robustel EG5101 is an industrial edge computing gateway that combines LTE Cat-1 backhaul with on-device processing for cost-sensitive deployments. Powered by an NXP i.MX 6ULL (792 MHz) and 8 GB eMMC, it runs RobustOS Pro (Debian 11) with Docker support, enabling lightweight, containerized applications for protocol bridging, buffering, and local preprocessing.
Dual-SIM redundancy and Ethernet WAN provide resilient connectivity, while an enterprise VPN suite (IPsec/OpenVPN/GRE/L2TP/PPTP/DMVPN) secures links to your control systems. For legacy and industrial equipment, the EG5101 includes 1รRS-232 and 1รRS-485 interfaces, simplifying direct connections to PLCs, meters, and instruments alongside IP devices.
A wide operating temperature range and cabinet-friendly mounting suit field panels and plant rooms. Fleet operations scale through RCMS for centralized monitoring, configuration, and firmware updates.
Result: a compact, open platform that delivers reliable connectivity and practical edge capability for smart metering, asset tracking, and distributed monitoring.
