Project Overview:
Organized Industrial Zones (OIZs) are among the regions with extremely intense energy consumption. These zones have high electricity and natural gas consumption. For the control and monitoring of the consumption of these resources, it is of great importance that OIZs have energy monitoring and management systems. Thus, energy efficiency can also be achieved.
The same situation applies to the OIZs located in Nilüfer and Hasanağa districts of Bursa and in Kilis and Gaziantep provinces. There was a need for regular reading of energy supply and demand data in the solar power plants, electricity and natural gas systems in these OIZs, and for remote monitoring and management. It was requested that the data collected from the automatic meter reading systems to be installed in these regions could be read and analyzed via a SCADA platform, uninterruptedly and in accordance with the requests. And, these automatic meter reading systems were implemented by using Robustel’s routers.
Scope of Automatic Meter Reading Established in Organized Industrial Zones
Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) systems located in Bursa Nilüfer, Hasanağa, Kilis, and Gaziantep Organized Industrial Zones (OIZs) have been installed by Merkez Yazılım. Data transmission and monitoring are provided through Merkez Yazılım's ABYSİS AMR software. This AMR system performs regular data reading every hour, optimizing energy management and monitoring processes.
Efficient monitoring and analysis of energy consumption support the achievement of sustainability goals. Real-time data flow on energy production and consumption allows for rapid detection and resolution of potential problems. This innovative approach contributes to the establishment of a more effective and environmentally friendly structure in the energy management of the industrial zone.
In Hasanağa OIZ, energy consumption and data information are collected from a total of 70 different points, 24 of which are Solar Power Plants, and transmitted to SCADA via the 4G GSM network.
In Gaziantep OIZ, energy consumption and data information are collected from a total of 2250 different points, 900 of which are natural gas and 1350 of which are electricity. Instantaneous data is collected from 400 of these points located in the solar power plant through analyzers and integrated into the TEİAŞ system by converting it to the ICCP protocol.
In Kilis OIZ, the collection and analysis of energy consumption and data information from a total of 90 different points, 15 of which are GES, have been ensured.
In Nilüfer OIZ, energy consumption and data information are collected from a total of 560 different points, 30 of which are GES, 400 are electricity, and 160 are natural gas, and detailed analyses are carried out.

Using Robustel Industrial 4G Router
Robustel's industrial 4G router equipment is used in many infrastructures across Turkey, for the uninterrupted and reliable transfer of data collected from these Organized Industrial Zones (OIZs) to the AMR system. Among the router used were Robustel R3000-L4L and R1511 models were used, by determining the correct model, providing fast product supply and technical support.
The following features of these devices were effective in choosing Robustel industrial 4G routers in the project:
- Variable baud rate support
- Compliance with IEC 62056 standard
- Uninterrupted wireless communication support
- Real-time data and location information acquisition
- Modbus protocol conversion support
- Ease of installation and configuration
- Minimum interruption time thanks to automatic connection to the backup line in case of interruption
